Century softball broke open a scoreless game in the fifth inning and cruised to a 8-1 win over Jamestown.
Neither offense could get anything going in the first four frames, but in the fifth, Century pitcher Maddy Zander decided she was going to give herself some run support.
Zander launched a three-run home run to left field to break the deadlock, and her teammates would follow suit with explosive offense.
Later in the game with a 5-0 lead and the bases loaded, Madi Kostelecky hit a ground ball that went right through the Jamestown shortstop’s legs. Three runs went on to score, and Zander finished strong on the circle to give Century the win.
Century faces Dickinson, who overcame a 2-0 deficit earlier in the day to beat Legacy 7-2.
First pitch between Century and Dickinson is set for 5 p.m. Friday.
