HS Track: Day 1 recap of Class A and B state track meet

Day 1 of the Class A and B Boys and Girls’ State Track Meet was held on May 26 at the Community Bowl.

The first day saw a record fall in the Class A girls 4 x 800m relay. Peyton Jensen, Kaydee Wescom, Jadyn Guidinger and Lindsey Werner raced around the track in 9:22.68.

Austin Wolf, from Legacy, won the High jump with a mark of 6-7.

In the 4 x 100m relay preliminaries, Kaitlyn Page, Kate Dillman, Maddi Iverson and Mady Mosolf clocked the fastest heat time at 48.78.

After the first day on the boys’ side, Century leads with 33 points. Legacy is second with 24 and Red River sits in third with 22.

On the girls’ side, Bismarck High with 39.5 points, enjoys a 16.5-point advantage over second place Central. Davies is third with 23.25 points.

The Class A and B state championships conclude on May 27.
