Huff Hills Ski Area plans to open for the winter season.
Now that temperatures are colder, crews are in the process of making snow.
They started Sunday and will continue until there is enough to ski on.
Mountain Operations Manager, Andy Beck, says you won’t be able to tell the difference between the fake snow and the real thing.
“Basically we take water from the Missouri River and we push it up on the ski area through a pipeline. From here, we push it up on the hill, and basically what a snowmaker does is that water creates fine droplets and blows it up in the air. It freezes on the way down,” Beck said.
Their goal is to open no later than the first week of December.
