They used a chainsaw to cut the ribbon on a new store in New Town.
It was an out-of-the- ordinary opening for a major new retailer.
United Quality Coop opened the 90-thousand square foot store in the spring and held it’s official christening today.
The store looks a bit like a standard convenience store outside – until you notice just how large the building is.
Inside, you’ll find everything from snacks to welding supplies, lumber to fishing gear in a store that employs about 70 people.
For United Quality, it’s a big leap into providing what its customer-owners in the ag business surrounding New Town say they want, nearby.
(Erik Jacobson, Interim CEO, United Quality Cooperative) “They were tired of driving to Minot, tired of driving to Watford City and Williston to get their hardware needs and farming and ranching supplies – we have a lot of ranching supplies here as well.”
United Quality Cooperative serves farmers and ranchers with elevators in Parshall, Ross, and New Town, and other facilities in New Town and Keene.
