UPDATE: Highway 2, from Devils Lake to Grand Forks, has now been closed, in addition to the two interstates.
The massive winter blast of wind and snow has forced the closure of key interstates in North Dakota.
I-94 between Bismarck and Fargo has been closed to traffic, while I-29 from Fargo north to the Canadian border is also closed.
The portions of I-94 that serve Bismarck and Mandan are accessible to local traffic. The roads are mostly clear of snow, but are icy in many places. Slower speeds and caution are advised.
In general, the North Dakota Department of Transportation is saying no travel is advised for south central and northeastern ND.
