Anglers ready to try their luck at ice fishing on Lake Sakakawea and Lake Audubon have dozens of access points to choose from this winter.
The Corps announced it has worked with state and federal agencies to produce a list of all the places where you can get onto the ice.
For now, that list is available online at the Corps’s Garrison Dam Project page.
But the head of the project says next year at this time, there’ll be a more convenient way to stay current on lake access.
(Todd Lindquist, Garrison Dam Project Manager) “We’re working with our GIS folks right now to develop an app that people can long onto and check the ice access points and whether they’re open or closed.”
Lindquist stresses that it’s up to you to make sure the ice is safe at any spot where you decide to venture onto the lake this winter.
