Perhaps you purchased some of the going out of business items at the store.
After all, the stores nationwide were supposed to officially close for good as of today.
Well now, there’s a message on the Herberger’s website stating, “We’ve got great news — Herberger’s is coming back!”
Further down the message is, “Stayed tuned for updates over the coming weeks! We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to being able to serve you again soon.”
That’s it for information.
A similar message is appearing on the Younkers, Boston Store, Bon-Ton, Carson’s, Bergner’s and Elder-Beerman websites — all stores that were owned by parent company Bon-Ton Stores Inc. that shut down after Bon-Ton Stores Inc. went into bankruptcy and its assets were purchased by a liquidator group.
The message begs the question whether it means Herberger’s will re-open in Bismarck and other former locations in North Dakota.
Mikalah Dahl, marketing director for Kirkwood Mall, says Spirit Halloween is taking over the empty Herberger’s spot in the shopping center as of September 1st for a seasonal lease until November.
After that, Dahl says there are “a few options” in the works for the space, but no leases have yet been signed.
Any questions about Herberger’s are being directed to parent company Bon-Ton’s media relations department.
