A man convicted of murder for hire – and who has many ties to North Dakota – is sentenced to life in prison.
The sentence for James Henrikson came down late this afternoon in federal court in Washington state.
Henrikson faced 11 charges including two for murder for hire and four for conspiracy to commit murder for hire.
The sentence includes an additional 30 years beyond the life sentence.
A jury in Washington found Henrikson guilty of the charges in February.
The verdicts include convictions in the death of K.C. Clarke who worked for Henrikson in North Dakota’s oil patch.
Clarke’s body has never been found.
Henrikson was also convicted of crimes connected to the death of Washington businessman Doug Carlile.
Police arrested Henrikson in Mandan in January 2014.
