Here are a few of the bills being discussed at the capitol today
The newly mandated ethics committees will meet today, to go over the new rules imposed by the passing of Measure 1 this November.
Measure 1 puts restrictions on campaign contributions, restricts interactions with lobbyists and created an ethics commission to investigate potential violations.
Voters were in favor of the measure by a vote of 53 to 46 percent
The Senate Ethics committee meets first at 2pm in the Brynhild Haugland room.
Senate Bill 2148 has to do with restrictions on public officials and lobbyists, and the requirements for the ND Ethics Commission.
The House Ethics committee meets at 3:30pm in the same room.
House Bill 1521 deals with reporting campaign contributions and investigations of ethics violations and rulemaking procedures, among other things.
Both hearings are expected to draw a crowd.
They’ve been moved to the Brynhild Haugland room, which is the largest meeting room at the Capitol.
