Today in Dickinson, ND parents and their kids learned how to stay safe and happy.
The Southwestern District Health Unit partnered with local businesses to hold it’s Eighth Annual Kids Health and Safety Fair . . . with a Western Theme.
Parents and kids picked out and wore their best cowboy hats, as they took part in fun, interactive activities that ranged from coloring to trivia.
Some of the activities taught kids about the dangers of smoking and basic human anatomy.
More than 30 local agencies from healthcare to law enforcement attended, and parents got the chance to see what resources are available to them in the community in case of an emergency.
“It’s a cool thing for the community to come to, because you have a lot of different organizations here that put on different mini events to teach kids about health and safety issues,” said Dustin Monke, who attended the Kids Health and Safety Fair with his wife and son.
More than one thousand people attended this year’s event.
