Killdeer celebrates basketball team’s trip to state tournament

Killdeer School shutdown classes to celebrate its girl’s basketball team.

All grades and members of the community gathered together in the school gym to wish the team luck as it heads to the state tournament.

The team went 20 – 4 during the regular season.

This is its first trip to the state championship since 2005.

“We are just happy to represent the Killdeer community, so we are hoping that we can go over there and make them proud,” said Head Coach Ashlee Viveros.

The Killdeer Cowboys will face Rugby in its first round match up in Minot on Thursday.
