North Dakota storms can be strong and sometimes can knock out the power.

If that happens and you need to make a call – but have no way of charging your dead cell phone, landlines are safe and reliable alternative.

SRT Communications Director says that if you have a phone plugged into the wall, that’s not cordless, it will not die.

The other advantage is if you have a laptop or computer – you can plug that jack into the wall you’ll be able to have your Internet services.

“If you have families and young children at home you want to have that reliability factor. The other piece of it is you’re just used to having a landline to be able to grab and call from,” said Cassidy Hjelmstad, Corporate Communications Director.

There are approximately twenty-thousand people who have landlines in the Minot area.
