Many of us remember counting down the last days of school…
Happening now…Emily Medalen is live after talking to a couple of students about what they’re looking forward to most.
Emily, what’d you find out?
These students are ready for some summer camps, sports, and time spent on lakes and rivers.
And these students have something else on their minds too… starting high school.
Eighth graders at Simle are walking the hallways of the middle school for the last time, and preparing for next year.
The students I spoke to are both headed to Legacy High School next year, and say they’re anxious to see what high school is like.
“It’s been difficult and fun. We’ve had a lot of projects due in the last week or 2, but we’re had lots of fun activities planned too. I’m excited for the school as a whole,” said John Ness, Simle Middle School.
“I’m all over the place, I feel like everyone else is too. We’re excited to have a new start, meet all these new people. But we’re also super nervous because of the grading system, and just, you know, everything is starting to really count,” said Ashlee McPherson, Simle Middle School.
When I was talking to these students, for one thing I was jealous of their 3 month summer break, and I was also thinking back to the days of middle and high school and wishing I could grow up… and now I wish I was back in their shoes!
