Legacy baseball building toward the future

Legacy baseball continues the process of building a program.

The Sabers are 2-4 six games into their second season of varsity competition. First-year head coach Eddie Streeter expected growing pains, but also experienced surprises despite the team’s win-loss record.

Of the young program’s four losses, many occurred latter innings, which Coach Streeter sees as positive sign for the future.

Streeter believes biggest hurdle for startup programs is not on the field, but in the mind.

“The thought that we belong,” Streeter said. “The thought that even though this is only our second year of varsity competition that we need to develop a winning culture and one that does things right.”

Legacy returns to action on April 18 against Century. First pitch of the double header schedule for 4:30 p.m. at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.
