Just over a month ago, Legacy High School received four bomb threats, forcing all students to evacuate. Weisz and Sons Contractors is the designated safe site for the school.
And today, students gave the business a big ‘thank you.’
Mark Herold; Band Director: “When everything was said and done, we asked Weisz and Sons, what can we do for you after all you’ve done for us. And their request was to have the band come over and play for them…”
Dwight Weisz; Weisz and Sons Contractors: “We didn’t know they were going to follow up with it. It’s pretty awesome. I love parades, it was a great way to start a work day.”
Weisz and Sons Contractors is the safe zone for the high school, on standby for situations like a bomb threat.
Dwight Weisz; Weisz and Sons Contractors: “We are fortunate enough to have a big enough building to accommodate. We’re happy to help.”
Students marching remember back to the bomb threats..
Taylor Ekart; Legacy Senior: “The first one was actually really scary, and then a lot of people were freaking out. The couple after that were confusing actually because we weren’t sure if they were real.”
Students say they were happy for the chance to say thank you.
Taylor Ekart; Legacy Senior: “It felt really good. They seemed to really enjoy it, they said we sounded really good. And they seemed happy we were there playing for them.”
Mark Herold; Band Director: “If we can give a little bit back by simply marching up top their front door and playing, I think that’s awesome.”
If you’d like to see the band in action for yourself, the Band Night Parade will be at the Capitol Grounds tomorrow night at 6:30!
