The last legislature forum gave people in the community the chance to ask their last questions before conference committees.

At today’s forum, many questions revolved around budgets.

State Senator Randy Burckhard says that some people will face up to 20 percent budget cuts because sales tax revenue is down.

Conference committees are coming up where three members of the senate and three members of the house will negotiate to make final decisions.

Burckhard adds that it’s hard to make these cuts, but it is something we have to do.

“It’s a tough time right now. It’s like a family, you have to live within your budget and if you don’t then you’re going to get into problems.” said Steve Wharton.

“Some with take serious cuts. Some will take 20% cuts in their budget and because you can’t spend what you don’t have.” said Randy Burckhard.

The legislature is wrapping up quickly and next on the agenda is conference committees.
