20 years in prison.
That’s the sentence for a Minot man who admitted sexually molesting children as young as six months old.
Timothy Sprenger pleaded guilty last month, after the deadline for making a deal that might have reduced his prison term.
Instead, Sprenger’s sentence was at the discretion of Judge Todd Cresap.
Cresap said lawyers and people in law enforcement often see things that would shock the general public, but Sprenger’s crimes, quote, “even shock people
within the law enforcement community.”
Investigators testified that Sprenger admitted molesting three children under age three and that he still has fantasies about very young children.
The crimes were committed in Minot between 2004 and 2009 and came to light when pages of Sprenger’s personal journal were discovered by a relative in Georgia last year.
After serving his prison term, Sprenger will be on probation for ten years, and must register as a sex offender.
