Police responded to Bismarck Municipal airport Monday morning after a loaded handgun was found in the carry-on bag of a 30-year-old Bismarck man. The gun was reported by a TSA agent at checkpoint.

Police brought the man to a secure area and uncovered 6 rounds of ammunition in the clip of the 9mm handgun. The man said the gun was in his bag while traveling and he forgot to take it out.

He was not arrested, but faces fines of up to nearly one-thousand dollars and possible criminal charges as well.

Bismarck Police are still investigating.
