A 43-year-old Bismarck man tried to board an airplane with a loaded handgun in his carry on.

Monday, December 11th, Bismarck Police responded to a T-S-A screening checkpoint at Bismarck Municipal Airport after an X-ray showed the weapon.

Authorities found a handgun with a full magazine, but no round in the chamber.

He had no outstanding warrants and the gun was not reported stolen.  The man was released at the scene.

A report was sent to the Bismarck city attorney and no charges have been filed.
