The outpour of help for the victims of Hurricane Harvey continues all across the nation.
“We have two twenty foot trailers that acme tools donated the use for, and we’re trying to stuff those two containers and send it down,” said Edward Nugent a past at Our Redeemer Church.
Our Redeemer’s Church, is taking in donations to help those who need it the most.
“We are working with Polk Texas Emergency Management they supply shelters in the area with items that they need,” said Nugent.
and they’ve provided a list of items that are needed the most.
“The three items they said are the most needed we’re non perishable foods, drinking water, and cleaning supplies,” said Nugent.
but they are also collecting other items.
“we’re also collecting working gloves, safety googles, things that people in Minot know you need when you’re tearing stuff out,” said Nugent.
Minot residents are no strangers to devastation like this
“we were here for the flood here and they’re was a lot of outpour here and we just think it’s important to give back to when people need it the most,” said Minot resident Jim Adkins.
and they know first hand what it takes to rebuild.
“it’s kind of a way of responding to what was done for Minot so much a few years ago with the flood here and the way people from around the country gave the people their time,” said Nugent.
Jim Adkins and his wife brought in drinking water and non perishable food. But they told me they were very concerned for the little ones.
“We were concerned about little ones so a bunch of baby wipes,” said Adkins.
because he knows, that in the end it’s the small things that count.
