Murphy Elementary in Bismarck went into shelter-in-place due to nearby unrelated incident

An email sent out to Murphy Elementary School parents on Thursday said the school went into a shelter-in-place due to a nearby unrelated incident out of an abundance of caution.

The email, sent Thursday at 2:46 p.m., said the Bismarck Police Department was involved in the nearby incident and after it was resolved, the school’s shelter-in-place was lifted and the school day is continuing as normal.
