WILLISTON, N.D. (KXNET) — Last week, the Williston Police Department responded to a report of a child falling from a balcony. It is now being reported that the child (a two-year-old boy) fell through a screen in an open window from the fourth floor of an apartment and has died.

According to the Williston Police Department, the window was approximately 40 feet from the ground and they are currently still investigating the incident.

Police stated that no further information will be released at this time. They are also urging the community to please use caution with children playing near open windows as the weather begins to get warmer. A screen is not a safety barrier to prevent anyone from falling through an open window.
