A kind gesture can make someone’s day and it might encourage them to do the same.
That’s the idea behind pay it forward, but in this case – it’s “petaling'” it forward.
“Are you going to petal it forward today,” asked Tammy Holen, Flower Box Owner.
You grab 2 flowers. You can keep one for yourself and then you give the second flower to another person and that’s how you petal it forward.
“You get a flower and smile,” said Holen.
Petal It Forward is a movement happening across the country. Tammy Holen wanted to bring it here.
Throughout the day she’s had guests like Norma Boles come in to get her two carnations just so she could give them away.
“I’m actually going to the grocery store and I’m going to give these flowers out to somebody in the store,” said Norma Boles, Minot Resident.
So she went on her way. She’s new to town and didn’t have a particular person in mind to give a flower to, but that wasn’t going to stop her from doing something nice.
“I feel that somebody needs to have a good day every once in awhile and I think this it’s wonderful to give someone a great day,” said Boles.
After walking most of the grocery store.
“I’m just looking for an older person that I might be able to make their day a bit better,” said Boles.
She found just the right person to share this with.
“It’s petal it forward day today and I thought this might make your day a bit,” said Boles.
A simple gesture like giving a stranger a flower can make all the difference.
“Pretty amazing, It makes your day,” said Carol Picard, Grocery Shopper.
“It just made their day and that makes me feel really good as well,” said Boles.
The Flower Box owner says that she ordered hundreds of flowers for this day and wants to make it an annual event.
