Local Restaurants Heeding Caution in Midst of e. Coli Outbreak

The E. Coli outbreak is still under investigation. The FDA search has narrowed it down to romaine lettuce in 6 California Counties.

The CDC is still warning people,  if you don’t know where your lettuce came from, DON’T EAT IT. The E. Coli outbreak put 16 people in the hospital.

Although none of those cases took place in North Dakota, local restaurants are still being cautious. We spoke to a manager at Lucky 13’s, after they made the decision to wipe it off the menu.

Corey Erickson; Kitchen Manager: “We just had to kind of wing it. And just switch out with different herbs, different salads, different lettuces. Romaine is obviously a big one with your Caesar and house mixes, but we found a way to make it work with ice berg and spinach.”

Lucky 13’s kitchen manager told us they hope to have romaine lettuce back on the menu next week.
