Local troop rallies community to paint for pups

The Brownie Girl Scout troop hosted a painting fundraiser at the THEO Art School to benefit Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue Sunday.

Their initial goal was to get 30 people to sign up and the community came out in bigger numbers.

More than 70 people signed up allowing the girls to donate about $700 to Furry Friends.

The troop leader says the girls came up with the idea after discussing their love for animals and saving them from any harm from harsh North Dakota weather.

“We all agreed that we all like animals and would like to help them find homes. We don’t like it that some animals have to spend the night in the cold, especially in North Dakota,” said Ryen Rothers.

All proceeds will benefit Rockin’ Rescue – an all volunteer-run rescue organization.
