A big announcement from Light of Christ Catholic Schools
They’ve raised enough money to break ground on the new St. Mary’s Central High School.
The capital campaign has raised $38 million so far. They initially kicked off their campaign on January 16th, 2016. Their goal is to make improvements to the existing three elementary schools, to consolidate grades 6-8 in the St. Mary’s Middle School Academy located in the current high school and building a new high school.
The new campus will include its own soccer and football field and a chapel to seat more than 600 people. This was due to a generous donation from Ken and Marilyn Keller.
The campaign also includes the establishment of a future viability endowment that will fund ongoing maintenance and improvements for the school.
The school still has to raise $8.5 million before they hit the $46.5 million dollars needed to fully fund the project.
The groundbreaking for the new High School will be Sunday, September 17th.
The projected date for the school to open is 2019.
