The city of Mandan is letting residents know the tornado siren located near the Lakewood and Marina Bay area has been repaired.
This past Sunday, the siren at the Wastewater Treatment Plant malfunctioned and went off, prompting a number of puzzled inquiries from the public.
The cause of the accident was the failure of an electronic board in the siren assembly.
The board was removed, repaired and the siren was put back in service.
In a post on the city’s Facebook page, officials apologized for creating unnecessary alarm.
