A man escaped serious injury this morning following an explosion at his home near Solen. At approximately 6:30am, State Radio received a 911 call that a house explosion occurred.

A man had just walked out of the residence when it exploded, resulting in an injury to his arm. A Morton County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene and found the victim able to drive himself to meet the ambulance.

The residence was completely destroyed by fire and Flasher Fire worked to distinguish the blaze.

Two witnesses, the victim’s daughter and her friend, explained that her father had been out of the house earlier, but returned as he had forgotten something. Then when he exited the home, the house exploded.

The incident remains under investigation.
