Graduations filled the Bismarck Mandan area today.
The first was Mandan High School and despite some questionable weather, they insisted on holding theirs outdoors.
MHS students, proud parents and spectators took to the new Starion Sports Complex for a unique experience.
Students say the high school tries to hold graduation outside at all costs to ensure everyone who wants to see has a spot.
The students are just happy to have made it to this day. A few shared what it takes to make it through high school.
Graduate Joseph Clark says, “It’s a grind: a lot of homework assignments, a lot that I didn’t do [and] a lot I should have done.”
Classmate Sydney Kautzman adds, “Stay true to yourself because in the end you will always have yourself, and just finding people that understand who you are.”
Students across North Dakota added to our states above average graduation rate. The national average is 84 percent, but 87 percent of North Dakota students graduate high school.
