A 20-year-old Mandan man is being accused of terrorizing. The Mandan Police Department received a call from a woman claiming to be the accused man’s mother on Wednesday, August 1st.
She told police that her son Eric Erhart called her and due to a breakup with his girlfriend, he plans on “doing a school shooting” on the first day of school.
The woman says Erhart told her his plan is to break into the National Guard Armory, steal firearms and ammunition, and said he was “going out in a blaze of glory.”
She added she had not been in contact with her son for about 13 years, and is worried that he told her this within the first week of them renewing contact.
She believes the man would possibly try to follow through with the threats he made to her. Erhart is charged with terrorizing, which is a Class C felony. He could face 5 years in prison if convicted.
