Mandan Public Schools will contract with Harlow bus service starting this fall.
Mandan has been doing their own busing for years, but recently have had trouble finding and hiring drivers.
So for the first time Mandan will contract out to Harlow.
As part of the deal Harlow will buy the buses from Mandan.
And current bus drivers will have the chance to move over to Harlow.
Another reason behind the change … its cheaper.
Ryan Lagasse, Facilities and Transportation Director for Mandan, says, “We are anticipating a very slight decrease in costs next year for busing services… I’d say about $70,000 less.”
Legasse says that Mandan is one of only a few Class A schools that have never contracted a bus service before.
