Mandan Public School’s Music Education Program has received national recognition for its outstanding commitment to music education.

The schools were honored with the best communities for music education designation from the NAMM Foundation. This award is given to school districts that demonstrate they put in the effort to provide music access and education to all students. We spoke with a mandan music teacher about how hard the students in the music program work.

Nicole Bernier; Mandan Music Teacher: “Well a lot, they work hard from kindergarten all the way up to fifth grade, to put something like this on, they have to build those skills from the beginning.”

Mandan was graded on several factors, including funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, and instruction time.
