Michael Rivera Sentenced to 3 Years

The U-S Marshal who was convicted on multiple counts surrounding a peeping tom incident in Bismarck’s target is sentenced. Michael Rivera was arrested in June 2016 after recording women and juvenile girls in a dressing room.Two of those juvenile victims spoke at the sentencing today. Then, the judge gave Rivera a chance to say something. 

“This is a message of forgiveness to the 10 victims who may or may not be present here today. I seek your forgiveness, and I am eager to extend my most heartfelt apologies to each individual. I’m sorry.” Rivera then turned around toward the two victims and said, “I’m am so sorry to you victims – truly.”

Rivera has already been charged in federal court to 7 years. Today’s sentencing added 3 years to that. The Judge also ordered Rivera to pay a fine to the victims and register as a sex offender.
