Many active military members are on the fairgrounds today.
That’s because it’s military appreciation day.
About 1,600 military members were expected for a special picnic today.
The beef association says it cooked close to 800 pounds of beef.
We spoke to an active military member who says the fair is the best time of the year.
“We are very grateful of everything like this –it’s very wonderful to see people love and reach out to the community –they give back so it’s a give take and everything like that,” said active military member Travis Smith.
This is the 14th year in a row that the picnic is held.
