Minot Cleaning Up After Sunday’s Snow Fall

Just when we thought the snow was gone for good, it decided to surprise us one more time.

People in Minot have been busy cleaning up.

Four to seven inches of snow is not what people were expecting two days before May, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t always prepared.

“Shovel’s always by the door,” said homeowner Don Lee. “Still got one in the car.”

But, One homeowner had to make do with what she had.

Somebody stole all our snow shovels… good thing I still got my garden shovel,” said homeowner Barb Fraley.

While homeowners were busy shoveling their driveways, the Minot park district city foresters were removing tree limbs.

The department already started removing debris at 2:30 this morning.

“We had two trees on cars already and got them cleaned up, so now we’re just getting the minor stuff now,” said Urban Planner Austin Berntson.

Snow in April in North Dakota is not uncommon. But, it’s the wet, heavy snow that can cause the most damage. Just look at this tree in front of me. But, if you’re a kid or a kid-at-heart, this makes the perfect snowball.

Just West of Minot- 8 to 12 inches of snow was reported by the National Weather Service.
