The Anne Street Bridge is in desperate need of repairs.
The materials on the structure are deteriorating which will eventually make it unsafe for pedestrians.
Because the structure is on the historic register the city of Minot needs to repair it and bring it up to code.
An analysis of it’s condition and repair costs will done in the next months.
“Right now there’s no safety hazard, they’ve been using it but we do have concerns because some of the boards are starting to rot out so there could be issues with that,” said Dan Jonasson Director of Pubic Works.
If the cost to repair the bridge isn’t in the city’s budget, he recommends the city close off the bridge for safety.
