A 32-year-old Minot man drowned in a small Ward County lake yesterday.

The sheriff’s department reports Albert Wilson had been on a small inflatable device at Nelson Carlson Lake just after six last night when he fell into the water.

Two witnesses tried to get to him but were unable to bring him to shore.

The dive teams from Burlington, Garrison, and Ward County responded and located his body just after 8pm but he could not be revived.

Officials say Wilson was not wearing a life jacket.

An autopsy is being performed to confirm the cause of death.
