Playing outdoor games in the winter doesn’t have to end anymore.
What looks like a white, big bubble is actually an indoor facility that can be used for softball, soccer, football, and more.
The bubble is located on top of the Minot State football field and will stay up throughout the winter.
The two million dollar project turned out to be 85 yards wide and 140 yards long.
But before it got it up, there was about a weeks worth of work that was spent prepping it to be blown up.
Once the prep work was done, everyone had to wait until the wind speeds got below 12 mph before they could release air into it.
“This thing will be operating from 6am until probably midnight most every day and there’s no reason it couldn’t operate through the night if a group had something that they wanted to do and we felt like that was a good idea,” said Andy Carter, Minot State Athletic Director.
The bubble is already accepting reservations for groups to use beginning January 1st.
