The Minot Symphony Orchestra is up to no good this weekend.
That’s because Saturday’s show is “The Troublemakers,” where they will perform pieces that depict stories of mischievous acts.
Friday they will hold a special performance, hosting school field trips for kids to experience the orchestra.
Maestro Amaya says students will recognize songs that are frequently in movies, TV shows or commercials.
(Efrain Amaya/Minot Symphony Orchestra Director) “This kind of becomes kind of general knowledge what these melodies are but people would not know exactly where it comes from.
So once they hear something that they’ve once heard, then they’ll say, “oh yeah I know this!”
Amaya says he likes to hold this performance for kids to introduce them to the symphony, so they can hopefully decide to come back year after year.
