A local city is looking to establish a new gathering space for their community.
After gathering public input, residents of Minot seem to favor one proposed location.
During the month of December the city of Minot gathered public input on three proposed locations.
11-thousand votes later, they found that location number two was the most favored.
The downtown gathering space is intended to be used for concerts, street fairs, and other gatherings.
Even with the results the city still has a long way to go.
“It’s a time sensitive project but it’s not going to be over night right, now we have to do an environmental and historical impact study, that’s probably going to be 3 or 4 months to that,” said public information officer Derek Hackett.
Hackett says the city must make sure the site selected meets budget and city requirements.
