The Bismarck Larks lost the opening game of a four-game series to Rochester on Aug. 3 at Municipal Ballpark.
Bismarck trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the first, when they thought an RBI ground out tied the game at 1. On the play, Rochester attempted to turn a double play but the ball hit the runner leaving from first. The Honkers argued the call. The umpires met and agreed runner interference occurred and awarded Rochester with two outs on the play.
In the top of the second, more bad play hurt the Larks. With a runner on third, a wild pitch gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage.
Bismarck lost 8-4.
The second game of the series is Aug. 4 at Municipal Ballpark at 7:35 p.m.
