Missouri River Reaches Action Levels in Burleigh County

Across the river in Burleigh County. officials have been closely monitoring the thaw.

Emergency Management says they’re keeping a close eye on levels, closing the Tavis Flood Control Structure to respond to gauges. 

Levels have reached the “action” stage at 12.73 feet. This means, for residents along the river they should be prepared in case levels rise to the minor flooding stage, which is about 2 feet higher than current levels. On the Burleigh County website, they have updated maps to show road closures, as well as sandbag pick-up sites. To visit their site, click here.
