Monday’s PM Forecast Update 5/1

From the KX Storm Center:

Across Western & Central ND, widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms have been moving through. So, a wet start to the week & the month of May. Through the next couple of days, we will repeat this pattern with seasonable temps. Tonight, thunderstorms and lingering showers will die down with some areas of fog developing. Tuesday, scattered rain with hit & miss thunderstorms will return as a slow moving system works its way (West to East) across the Dakotas. By Wednesday rain chances will fall as scattered rain gradually moves East and away from us. Until rain chances end, it will be a little breezy at times with temperatures near average and topping out in the upper 50s and lower to mid 60s. None of these thunderstorms are expected to become severe and most cells will stay relatively un-organized. However, some small hail will be possible. Wednesday, Thursday & Friday will bring a change up. Our weather pattern will calm down with more sunshine and warming temps. Daily highs will climb well above average and into the 70s. Under plenty of sunshine, temps will stay in this pleasantly warm range through the weekend. A few of the long-range models are pointing to stronger winds Saturday/Sunday and the return of rain chances by the beginning of next week.
Tonight, partly to mostly cloudy with lingering showers fizzling out and a few areas of fog developing. Lows in the 30s with a few 40s with a NW/West wind 2-12mph. 30% chance of rain.
Tuesday, partly cloudy with the return of scattered rain & a few thunderstorms. Highs in the 50s & 60s with a West/NW wind 5-15mph G20. 30% chance of rain.
Tuesday night, partly to mostly cloudy with in & out clouds and still a little cool. Lows in the 30s & 40s with a NW wind 5-15mph. 20% chance of rain.
Wednesday will bring more sunshine with a final chance for scattered rain/a few thunderstorms over Central & Eastern ND. Highs in the 60s with a few 50s and a NW wind 5-15mph G20. 20% chance of rain.
Wednesday night, mostly clear and a little cool. Lows in the 30s & 40s with a NW wind 2-10mph.
