Motor Magic is making its annual Labor Day Weekend mark on the Magic City.
The State Fairgrounds will host events for all ages today through Sunday.
The activity kicked off with drag racing tonight at 5, but there’s something else special that you can catch all weekend long.
Becky Farr got a sneak peak at today’s Masters’ Auction.
(Becky Farr, KX News) The traffic through Minot may look a bit different this weekend.
Motor Magic, home to the Masters Auction, expects to see classic cars from 1925 to as recent as 2005.
“It’s a 1966 Mercury Park Lane.”
(Farr) This year’s ring man George Masters says buyers and sellers alike look forward to the auction.
(George Masters/Former Masters Auction Owner) “They’ve had these cars in the past, their grandma might have had a car like it and now it’s time for them to have one and just enjoy this hobby.”
(Farr) Cars have traveled all the way from Lyons, Colorado and the Twin Cities to find their new owners.
The bidding does not begin until noon on Sunday, but anyone can come scope out the model cars starting Friday.
(Masters) “The auction’s been really good because this auction is one of the, I’ll say, least expensive for consignment fees and commissions that the buyers and the sellers have to pay. It’s one of the best in the country I think.”
(Farr) Bid numbers are free, and prices are expected to range anywhere from 2,000 dollars to upwards of 50,000 dollars.
(Masters) “It’s really neat, there’s some great cars.”
(Becky Farrfirstname.lastname@example.org) “If you’re in the market for a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible, you could be driving home in this beauty Sunday afternoon. Becky Farr, KX News.”
