If you’re thinking about a career in law enforcement, North Dakota is one of the best 10 states in which to do that.
The personal financial website WalletHub data survey ranks N.D. 6th in the nation in 27 key indicators of police-friendliness.
Those indicators include median income for law-enforcement officers to police deaths per 1,000 officers to state and local police-protection expenses per capita.
In individual categories, here’s how North Dakota ranked:
- Percentage of Homicide Cases Solved: 1st
- Law-Enforcement Officers per Capita: 12th
- Violent-Crime Rate: 14th
- Median Income for Law-Enforcement Officers: 23rd
- Median Income Growth for Law-Enforcement Officers: 30th
For the purposes of the survey, “Law-enforcement officers” includes police and sheriff’s patrol officers, detectives and criminal investigators.
