Dictionary.com has picked out its Word Of The Year to sum up 2018.

This year, the word is “misinformation”

The word has been around for centuries, but it made a major comeback in 2018. That’s due to the large amount of fake information that made its way to the internet this year.

Dictionary.com stresses “misinformation” is not the same as “disinformation.”

The annual ‘Word Of The Year” is done to shine a light on the most searched or used word.

The runner-up words of the year were “representation,” “self-made” and “backlash.”
