According to the latest report by the Small Business Administration, 98.8% of all businesses in North Dakota are considered small businesses.

The SBA considers a small business as any firm employing fewer than 500 people.

There are over 72,000 small business in the state that employ about 58% of all North Dakota employees.

An owner in North Dakota says that making a career change to a small business owner was a great choice because the community is very supportive.

“We provide an alternative choice. We bring variety and I think joy to a lot of people,” said Deb Peery, Nature’s Nook Children’s Book and Toys Owner.

It is National Small Business Week.

It runs from April 29th to May 5th.
