Bismarck, ND – Ranchers held another cattle auction to help raise money for wild-fire victims in other states.
Last month, wildfires in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado killed thousands of cattle. So, the North Dakota Farm Bureau is holding a series of cattle auctions to help raise money for ranchers in those states.
About $10,000 was raised Wednesday at Kist Livestock Auction in Mandan. That brings the total amount raised to about $40,000.
Daryl Lies, North Dakota Farm Bureau President:
“When things happen to a community, the community comes together. They may be four or five states away, but they’re still our neighbors in the ag community so it’s time we step up,” President of the ND Farm Bureau Daryl Lies said.
This was the third of five auctions. The next one is Thursday in Napoleon.
