2017 was a big year for North Dakota work zones. They saw zero fatalities.

That’s a big leap from 2016. There were 6 that year.
So, the North Dakota Department of Transportation is reminding you to be mindful of work zone when traveling. They say to watch speed limits and keep free from distractions. That can go a long way by potentially saving lives.

“We really are encouraging everyone that’s going through the work zones to be as safe as possible. Lets match 2017’s zero with our goal of zero for 2018, said Russ Hanson, executive vice president for the Associated General Contracts of North Dakota.

The minimum fine for speeding through a work zone in North Dakota is 80 dollars. You can find a map of all the summer work zones on the Department of Transportation’s website.
