Road closures change your routes and may add time to your commute.

KX News is keeping you informed about where and when these closures could affect you and now

Starting this evening, 16th Street and moving east approximately one block onto 2nd Avenue SW will be closed.

Work is going to be done on the corner as crews install an underground storm sewer system which is a part of the MI-3 Flood Protection Project.

Local access will be allowed on the road and access to local businesses like Harley’s will be available.

The detour route will follow 16th street up to 4th ave and then come back down on 10th street to 2nd avenue.

“Be prepared for a detour route, allow yourself some extra time, and be vigilant while you’re in the construction area,” said Aaron Fornshell, Resident Project Representative.

The road will be closed for about 3 weeks.

Work along this corridor is anticipated to be complete in mid-October.
